Sponsored by Boutique Design Magazine and HOTELS Magazine, the IHMRS Annual Gold Key Award for Excellence in Hospitality Design celebrates design excellence across all sectors of the hospitality industry. A panel of expert judges from around the world will review the entries. Finalists and winners in all 14 categories will be announced at a gala event on Sunday evening, November 10 in New York as part of the 2013 International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show and Boutique Design New York trade fair and forum. The projects will also receive feature coverage in the magazines. Please complete this photo release document and include the signed form with your entry. Projects submitted without a signed photo release will be ineligible.

BEST HOTEL MIDSCALE: Best overall property architecture, interiors and overall ambience in a 3-star hotel (new build or renovated)
BEST HOTEL BUDGET/FOCUSED SERVICE: Best overall property architecture, interiors and overall ambience in a 1-star or 2-star hotel (new build or renovated)
BEST RESORT: Best overall property architecture, interiors and overall ambience in a resort (new build or renovated)
BEST GUEST ROOM LUXURY/UPSCALE: Standard 4-star or 5-star guest room, including the bathroom
BEST GUEST ROOM MIDSCALE/BUDGET/FOCUSED SERVICE: Standard 1-star, 2-star or 3-star guest room, including the bathroom
BEST LOBBY LUXURY/UPSCALE: Entrance area/public space and reception/front desk in a 4-star or 5-star property
BEST LOBBY MIDSCALE/BUDGET/FOCUSED SERVICE: Entrance area/public space and reception/front desk in a 1-star, 2-star or 3-star property
BEST RESTAURANT FINE DINING: Restaurants with table service, higher end menu pricing and an upscale experience
BEST RESTAURANT CASUAL DINING: Restaurants with counter service, limited service or table service with mid-priced/budget menu pricing
BEST SPA: Spa facility within a hotel or resort including reception, treatment rooms/suites and (if applicable) special features such as pools, saunas, ice or salt rooms, water features and hammams
BEST SUITE: Guest room containing separate living and sleeping rooms, as well as a bathroom
BEST ECO-CONSCIOUS OR SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS HOTEL: Overall excellence in creating both an exterior and interior that improve the eco- or social environment
JUDGES’ SO COOL: Interior or a single design element in a hotel, restaurant, spa, club or cruise ship that makes a never-seen-before “wow” statement

All new construction and/or renovations completed between January 1, 2012 and June 1, 2013 are eligible for the 2013 competition. Each entry must be submitted using this official online entry form with the following:
ENTRY SUBMISSIONS The project description, floor plan, photographs and supplier list are reviewed anonymously by the judges — do not include the name of the submitting firm and its collaborators on these materials. You may submit a project in more than one category, however, a separate, completed entry form and entry fee is required. Fee is $150 per entry.
