Concurrent Sessions –3:45pm – 4:45pm Data Security and PCI Standards -- Making Sure Your Organization Is Protected and Compliant Data security is a growing concern among consumers, employees, and businesses due to the increased number of breaches witnessed across the business landscape and the rising number of threats as a result of doing business electronically. Don't fall victim to such calamities. Given the costs and risks involved and the approaching deadlines to implement tighter controls and procedures for handling sensitive customer, employee, and payment card information, hospitality companies must make security a top priority or else face the risk of being slapped with high fines for non-compliance. What to do can seem daunting and requires extensive attention to details--in terms of business and systems processing and record keeping/storage. This session will address the nuts and bolts of data security and payment card industry data security standards (PCI DSS) and help operators determine tactical strategies to ensure compliance and safeguarding of information entrusted in them as well as provide auditing tips to monitor security vulnerabilities on an ongoing bases.
